Stitch_ncy is a concept fashion brand rooted in artisan craftsmanship and conscious design. The brand creates thoughtfully made garments that celebrate sustainability through the use of natural and upcycled textiles, creative mending techniques, and small-batch collections. Stitch_ncy aims to merge individuality, storytelling, and responsible fashion into pieces that are both timeless and intentional.
Our small home studio is home to a year-round creative mending practice, alongside occasional artisan collections made carefully and released in their own time.

Upcycling & Natural Fibres
“Upcycle: to reuse discarded objects or materials in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.”
At Stitch_ncy, upcycling is at the heart of every collection. We incorporate it in different ways across our ranges — from reusing elements of preloved garments, to repurposing lace, to creating entirely new textiles through patchwork and fabric texturing.
Our fabrics are sourced as locally as possible, with a preference for natural and deadstock fabrics. The preloved garments we work with are either donated or carefully sourced from local thrift stores and charity shops. We also welcome donations of worn or damaged clothing, selectively salvaging fabric that remains in good condition and giving it new life through thoughtful design.
“Natural fibres: any hair-like raw material directly obtainable from an animal, vegetable, or mineral source and convertible into nonwoven fabrics such as felt or paper or, after spinning into yarn, into woven cloth.”
Individually & Artisan-Made
Every Stitch_ncy garment is individually hand-cut, sewn, and hand-finished. Designed with longevity in mind, our pieces are made to heirloom quality — timeless garments intended to be treasured for years to come.
Each design is consciously developed to minimise waste, while many garments are finished with hand embroidery and other artisanal details that add a deeply personal touch.
“Artisan: a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand.”
At Stitch_ncy, our desire is to create garments that can be cherished across generations. We proudly offer a lifetime repair guarantee to encourage lasting wear and conscious ownership.

FOUNDER & FASHION DESIGNER
After obtaining her BA in Fashion Design, Jessica worked in the NGO space upskilling women using crochet and sewing. It was here that her love for working with women and creating handmade beauty meshed together. She is based in Pretoria and calls it home alongside her husband, “Aubs”.
“After completing my studies, I didn’t like the Fashion Industry. I was not a fan of consumerism, it felt fake and empty. However, when the focus started to shift to the hands and hearts behind the clothes, my interest returned. I love working with women, hearing their stories, and celebrating when they put love into their work. My life is no more valuable than hers. When we work in a team of artisans, our relationship is built on mutual respect. We should be able to work in an environment that fights for each individual to have equal opportunity. I hope to leave a legacy that impacts others for good.
At the moment this is a one-woman operation. In time, we hope to soon add to the team. Creating a work environment that is safe, happy and healthy. Where women can earn a fair living wage, and where their futures are invested in.
